Adopting A Pet Checklist
During an adopt-a-pet benefit sponsored by Coldwell Banker, Pittsburgh Property Diva and her lovely family adopted a dog and cat! [...]
This is Spike. He’s a rescue dog. If you’re reading this and aren’t sure what that means… it’s just that simple. We rescued him. My husband and I attended an annual event at my Coldwell Banker office in Murrysville for shelter pets. We thought it would be a helpful thing to do. After all, we had 2 dogs and 3 cats, so I guess that qualifies us as animal lovers, right?
Of course we had no intention of bringing home a new friend. The hotel was booked. And, of course, we did. I saw Spike immediately and instantly I knew I needed to walk him. All day. A few hours later, after my husband, Chris, quietly remarked “He’s coming home with us…” it was official.
Spike immediately bonded with all of us… our two boston terriers (Vader and Priscilla) and our 3 cats (Boots, Penny and Vivian). What a special dog he is!
This year, I’m going to feature the Diva Pet of The Month from my local shelter here in Monroeville. With help from Pittsburgh Beautiful in spreading the word, we will hopefully help someone, maybe even YOU… find your new best friend. There are millions of animals in need of their best friend out there. There’s nothing like a rescue pet. They teach you so much.
